HYDROPORTKEHL
Hydrogen supply for the port and industrial area of Kehl

In the Kehl industrial area and port, the RMA Rheinau GmbH & Co.KG , in cooperation with the Hafenverwaltung Kehl KdöR, badenova AG & Co. KG and Haas Engineering, wants to create an H2 infrastructure for the companies based there and beyond. The aim is to achieve an economical, scalable entry into the hydrogen economy through sector coupling of industry, mobility, and heating. A 1 MW electrolyzer is expected to produce 80 tons of hydrogen per year. The energy-intensive industrial companies Badische Stahlwerke and the paper manufacturer Koehler have already signed a letter of intent expressing their interest in large quantities of H2. Other local mechanical engineering, industrial, and electrical engineering companies will also be involved. The exact current plan can be seen in the graphic.
The project is financially supported by ITG and funded by the ELY funding program of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Environment.
