Review: In the Lake Constance-Upper Swabia region, companies from various industries are increasingly turning their attention to the forward-looking topic of hydrogen. In the coming years, the top priority will be network connectivity and hydrogen supply.
At a joint event organized by the IHK Bodensee-Oberschwaben, Stadtwerk am See GmbH & Co. KG, and TWS Netz GmbH in Friedrichshafen at the end of October 2024, the latest information was presented on the status of the hydrogen transformation and the planned connection of the region to the hydrogen network.

Among other things, Fabian Burggraf, Managing Director of Klimapartner Südbaden, presented hydrogen projects such as the Regional Hydrogen Strategy SüdwestBW in the border region of Germany, France, and Switzerland, and emphasized that the concretization of hydrogen supply should take place in an iterative process involving both sides—producers and consumers.
During the panel discussion, the speakers were confronted with numerous questions from the interested audience, which revealed that many regional companies are in the starting blocks when it comes to hydrogen or are already making preparations for the ramp-up, and that there is an enormous need for information.
