CO2InnO
Real-world laboratory CO2-neutral innovation region Upper Rhine

“The 3H2 network partners Klimapartner Südbaden e.V. and Kehl University of Applied Sciences are part of the CO2InnO project co-financed by the European Union. This project aims to contribute to the transformation of the Upper Rhine region into a climate-neutral hub and present hydrogen-based solutions for electricity and heat generation as well as electromobility. The aim is to test and promote decentralized, climate-neutral energy and transport solutions and to evaluate their benefits for local and regional systems. The project partners are working closely with French and German citizens and stakeholders. CO2InnO is investigating the following elements:

  • Hydrogen-based combined heat and power plant (CHP) (demonstrator)
  • Sustainable mobility and charging infrastructure
  • Cybersecurity in energy systems
  • Technical, administrative and legal framework conditions
  • Social acceptance
  • Effects of the decommissioning of nuclear power plants
