South Baden region now represented twice in the hydrogen core network
The RHYN-Interco and H2@Hochrhein projects from the region are represented in the German hydrogen core network.

Great success: Hydrogen pipeline for South Baden in the core network application.
Thanks to the commitment of a large number of stakeholders from the 3H2 network, we have achieved a major joint success for the region! On 22.07.2024, the Association of Gas Transmission System Operators (FNB Gas) submitted the application for a Germany-wide hydrogen core network to the Federal Network Agency. After the H2 pipeline project RHYn-Interco, initiated by the 3H2 players GRTgaz, badenova and terranets BW, was included in the application in November 2023, the badenovaNETZE project H2@Hochrhein has now also been accepted.

The project focuses on the planning of a 58 km long, supra-regional hydrogen pipeline from Grenzach-Wyhlen to Waldshut-Tiengen along the Rhine. An 8.5 km section near Albbruck is planned as the first construction phase, where the 3H2 partners RWE, badenovaNETZE, IWB and Fritz-Meyer AG are planning a hydrogen ecosystem with a 50 MWel electrolysis plant and will thus make an important contribution to regional hydrogen production. In particular, the energy-intensive industry on both sides of the High Rhine is to be supplied with green hydrogen via the project in the future.

A decisive step for the region and an important milestone for the 3H2 network. Congratulations to everyone involved!
