The Swiss company Infener is planning to build a hydrogen hub in Gengenbach. Klimapartner Südbaden is supporting the project.

The project was officially presented at a press conference in Genegenbach on Monday, September 16: The plan is to build a 20 megawatt hub that will produce up to 2,000 tons of green hydrogen annually and supply the Ortenau district with energy in a decentralized, economical and climate-neutral manner.

The project on the “Kinzigpark I” industrial estate is currently in the design phase. Its realization depends on the results of this planning phase, the conclusion of purchase agreements and the necessary investment decisions.

In addition to the Klimapartner, the project is supported by the mayor, the municipal utilities and the regional business development agency.
