Science and application-oriented research play a fundamental role at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences. The HSO is open to a wide range of existing and new technologies and concepts and participates in scientific discourse. It is the HSO’s ambition to be internationally visible and to play a part in its key research topics. At the same time, HSO’s research is aimed at practical applications that are developed together with regional partners. This enables it to shape innovations and transformation processes in its tri-national region on the southern Upper Rhine and strengthen the region in the long term. As a reliable and trustworthy partner, the HSO is involved in research networks and cooperates with regional, national and international partners from science and industry.
Offenburg University of Applied Sciences places a special focus on hydrogen in teaching and research. Hydrogen technology, for example, is a new focus in the Master’s degree in Mechanical and Process Engineering and Offenburg University of Applied Sciences is involved in the Hydrogen Valley Südbaden project together with 3H2 and itg.
