Colloquium on the initial results of the Interreg VI project “CO2InnO”
Initial results of the project, which is creating a real-world laboratory for the development of energy and mobility solutions in the CO2-neutral Upper Rhine pilot innovation region.

The Interreg project CO2InnO aims to develop sustainable solutions in the fields of energy, mobility, and industry with the goal of transforming the Upper Rhine region into an emission-free pilot region. The focus is on decentralized energy generation and storage using a combined heat and power plant powered by green hydrogen.

The first colloquium of this Interreg project is being organized by TRION Climate e.V. and the University of Freiburg and will take place on December 5, 2023, in the auditorium of the University of Freiburg (1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.). The event is divided into three program blocks:

1. Presentation of the Interreg project and the H2 CHP pilot plant
2. Use of an H2 CHP plant in the case studies of the city of Offenburg and the University Medical Center Freiburg
3. State of technology maturity and exemplary industrial projects

A simulation tool currently under development will answer questions regarding the profitability of the project and possible combinations with other renewable energy sources. Topics such as acceptance, regulation, cybersecurity, and reuse of local materials will be explored in accompanying studies.

Details on the colloquium schedule and speakers can be found in the draft program.
