mosaHYc

The founding members of Grande Région Hydrogen — the distribution network operators Creos (Germany) and NaTran (France), along with the energy company Encevo (Luxembourg) — have launched an ambitious initiative to establish an approximately 100-kilometre-long hydrogen pipeline across the Grande Région.

To bring this vision to life, a significant portion of existing gas pipelines in the areas of Völklingen (Germany), Carling (France), Bouzonville (France), and Perl (Germany) will be inspected and converted for hydrogen transport. In addition, a major new construction project will build 30 kilometres of hydrogen pipelines between Bouzonville and Dillingen, forming the region’s first hydrogen island network.

Once operational, this cross-border infrastructure will offer a capacity of up to 120,000 m³/h, depending on the maximum operating pressure. Commissioning is planned for 2028, with an estimated 60,000 tonnes of hydrogen to be transported annually by 2030. Over the long term, MosaHYc is set to accelerate the development of an interregional hydrogen market.
