TÜV SÜD’s experts support the entire hydrogen value chain – from hydrogen production, for example, in power-to-gas plants, to distribution via pipelines and application in a wide variety of areas, such as fuel cell systems or gas-fired power plants.
The company provides support with issues relating to concept development and planning, material suitability, construction, and safe operation of the plants. TÜV Süd also supports employees with training on the safe handling of hydrogen systems.
TÜV SÜD certifies that materials and components are suitable for use with hydrogen (H2-ready). The testing and certification service provider has awarded such a certificate to fischer Edelstahlrohre GmbH in Achern, for example. TÜV SÜD has also developed its own standard for “material resistance to pressurized hydrogen” in collaboration with component manufacturers. This allows reliable statements to be made about the hydrogen resistance of materials and components.
