Gasverbund Mittelland AG
Gasverbund Mittelland AG plans, designs, builds and operates gas infrastructure in the high-pressure range and under federal supervision. GVM intends to use this expertise in the future to expand the hydrogen network in Switzerland and in particular in GVM’s supply area.

Gasverbund Mittelland AG (GVM) procures and transports gas by pooling demand to secure the best possible conditions on behalf of its 15 affiliated local utilities in the Mittelland region and Northwestern Switzerland. To achieve this, GVM operates a high-pressure pipeline network of approximately 520 kilometers, with over 80 transfer stations.

Looking ahead, GVM is focusing on green gases to ensure a secure, long-term, and sustainable energy supply. In doing so, GVM contributes to Switzerland’s energy strategy and its net-zero target for 2050. Gasverbund Mittelland AG is investigating the hydrogen suitability of the existing pipeline and ancillary systems and is supporting its shareholders in converting to renewable gases and meeting the individual cantonal climate targets.
