Canton Aargau Energy Division of the Department of Construction, Transport and Environment
As an energy-producing canton, Aargau plays a key role in Switzerland’s energy production and logistics. To play an active part in shaping the future energy system, the Energy Division of the Department of Construction, Transport and the Environment (BVU) is involved in the 3H2 Initiative network.

For the canton of Aargau, supply security is at the heart of its energy policy objectives. A key factor in this regard is international connectivity for the future supply of affordable green hydrogen. The development of a functioning hydrogen economy will not take place in isolation at cantonal or national level, but requires integration into supra-regional and European infrastructures and markets. By participating in the 3H2 initiative, the Canton of Aargau can engage with these developments at an early stage, strengthen partnerships and secure access to international value chains.

At the same time, the network offers an important platform for exchange with stakeholders from business, research and the public sector. In this way, the Canton of Aargau can contribute its strengths in a targeted manner, promote innovation and help shape the regulatory framework that will ensure a secure, sustainable and economically viable energy supply in the long term.
