Thank you very much for your active participation in the 3H2 Forum and your commitment to the hydrogen economy in the border triangle!

At the 3H2 Forum, approximately 250 participants gathered at Black Forest Studios in Kirchzarten to discuss how the hydrogen economy can be ramped up in the border triangle. There are many complex challenges, and time is of the essence. However, optimism prevailed at the hydrogen ecosystem meeting: constructive discussions were held, appeals to politicians were heard, questions were answered, valuable conversations were held, and contacts were made. Both on stage and off stage.
The focus was on the panel discussion with Dr. Franziska Brantner, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Andreas Jung, Chairman of the Climate Protection and Energy Working Group of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag, Dr. Sopna Sury, Chief Operating Officer Hydrogen at RWE Generation, Brigitte Torloting, Vice President of the French Grand Est region and President of the Upper Rhine Council, and Andreas Truttenbach, Deputy President of the IHK Südlicher Oberrhein.

In addition to the political representatives, experts from business and science also had their say, addressing both the challenges and opportunities involved in establishing a cross-border hydrogen economy. Several 3H2 stakeholders reported on regional and supraregional projects related to the production, transport, and use of hydrogen. Industry representatives and network operators reported on hydrogen as a sustainably producible energy source with the potential to make entire industries future-proof. Representatives from science and research made it clear how this can also be achieved economically.

The program was framed by exhibits from the world of hydrogen and a roll-up session. Here, the 3H2 players showed how versatile hydrogen technology already is in our region today.

At the end of the event, the 3H2 baton was handed over from the forum organizers to their French colleagues. We are therefore delighted that the 3H2 Forum 2024 will take place on French soil. This is what cross-border cooperation looks like.
